Its made-for-touch interface is more about following content creators and getting their updates, rather than getting a large list of mixed latest links.

In the settings, you can also choose how long to stay on each story, whether to auto-reload stories, and to disable content older than a certain period.ĭownload: Stories Now for Android | iOS (Free)ġfeed is a browser-based RSS feed reader made for phones and tablets. Stories Now lets you create multiple folders to sort your various RSS subscriptions. Tap at the right or left edge of the screen to go forward and back, or swipe to go to the next publication. Tap it to see their latest posts in the style of Instagram stories.

You can also add custom feeds, and there's also an option to import your existing RSS subscriptions.Įach is presented as a logo in the main Default folder. It has a built-in library of popular publications that you can subscribe to, like the New York Times, BBC, The Atlantic, The Verge, etc. Stories Now is a simple RSS reader that shows posts in the style of Stories. It was only logical that someone would make an RSS feed reader with the same mechanism. It was otherwise not a good RSS reader but that feature was nice. From Instagram to LinkedIn, Stories are the hottest trend in how we consume a series of posts. One feature that was very nice that I've only ever seen in one reader (but can't remember which) was that it registered its reader mode as a browser, so you could share a link and open it directly in its reader mode, to read without distractions.

I want dark theme, ability to add/edit feeds manually, OPML import/export, reader mode (preferably used by default, or ability to set it as default), fetching full stories (preferably also default), manual refresh (or on app open), quick search, and groups or categories. I should note that my requirements from an RSS reader are quite basic, I don't need automatic refresh, filters or anything fancy. The fact it has groups and search is a big plus, I may switch to it for a while and see how it goes. People say the RSS parser has some issues but I haven't seen any. In spite of this, ReadYou seems pretty usable to me right now (I'm also currently using Feeder). Material design also pisses me off with how much screen space it's wasting. You can't edit feeds (you can change name but not the URL) so the only way to fix an URL is to delete and re-add. One big minus is that ReadYou seems incomplete, there's a lot of stuff greyed out all over the place. One big plus over Feeder is that ReadYou has quick search and can group feeds. Post not showing up? Have a suggestion? Message the mods.
